Sorry, you appear to be using an UNsupported browser

This means that the pages you are about to view may not display properly, some parts may not display at all, and many of the features may not work.

This website has been designed to work on a PC running Windows and using only Microsoft's Internet Explorer (later versions):
Some other browsers may in fact work, but it's really, really important that the design you make is seen in the same way by both you and by us, otherwise the banner we make may not be what you really wanted.

back to Main page | forward to Design/Order page
Please read this page before going to the Design/Order page . . .

...reading this page first may save you a lot of time and grief!

Your computer's browser must be Microsoft's Internet Explorer version 6.0 or above. You must have 'cookies' and Javascript enabled, and allow 'popups'. All these are used by the page to display your designs as you work on them.

You also need to have 3 type-fonts present on your computer
- Arial, Arial Black, and Times New Roman - so that the letter styles and size that you see on your screen are the same as those we will see in the factory.

The good news is that all this is pretty standard on today's computers, but just to be sure I've put a picture (right) of how the Design/Order page should look when it first loads:

If the page you see looks any different to this, then there's something wrong - and the design you make will not be what we see and make in our factory.

Here's how to design your banner:

Type into the middle box, and you will see your words appear in the picture of the banner at the top of the page. Simple, huh?

Try changing other settings in the section near where you're typing - such as changing 'Bold' to 'Italic' - and you'll see that it changes you words' style in the picture of your banner at the top of the page. It's this simple!

The 5 sections in this part of your screen correspond to the 5 areas of type on the banner you're seeing at the top of the page - so just make changes in any of these sections to change the design of your banner.

To change the background colour of your banner simply select a colour from this 'dropdown' box.

To change the length - and therefore the price - of your banner, use the 'Shorter' and 'Longer' buttons. The current length and price of your banner is shown just above the picture at the top your screen.

You're really stuck? Here's heaps more info:

If you have any difficulties using the Design/Order page . . .

This is how the Design/Order page works - so reading this section will tell you if there's something wrong with the page itself.

The banner at the top of the page is the banner that you are designing - but you make all changes using the sections below it. Immediately below the banner is a left arrow, then a dropdown box in which you select the background colour of your banner, then a right arrow. These left & right arrows change the width of your banner from 3 to 8 metres, and the price is shown just above your banner. Click the 'save this design' button at any time to save your banner into the list of 'saved designs' at the bottom of your screen (you can later delete designs from this list).

In the section entitled 'Alter these settings to design your banner' you'll see 5 smaller sections, and each of these corresponds to an area of words in your banner. For example, the top left section will have a yellow box with the words 'Text 1', and if you try changing these words, you will see that 'Text 1' at the top left of your banner will change to whatever words you are now typing in. The other parts of that section (in which you are typing) allow you to alter your words - their letter style, size, normal or bold or italic, colour, and by clicking the little arrows you can move the position of your words on the page. If you cannot see what you are typing into one of these little boxes, then I'll have a guess that you've changed the colour of the words to the same colour as the background of your banner and are now feeling a little silly...lol.

The 'Previously SAVED designs' section at the bottom of your page is where you'll find the designs you've saved - the page shows your 5 latest saved designs, so click the 'newer' and 'older' buttons to see your other saved designs. Moving your mouse pointer over a design allows you to select the 'Order this banner' or 'delete banner' buttons. If you delete a banner by mistake, you can use the 'UN-delete last deleted banner' link at the extreme foot of the page to get it back.

About uploading designs and logos

The only way the banner can be designed is by using the Design page - so logos and graphics are not available. These are intended to be simple promotional banners and used for advertising, and the size of type and range of colours is limited as is appropriate to this purpose.

About the colours

The colours you see are only representative - mainly because everyone's computer displays colours very differently. But be assured that the banners are printed in strong, vibrant colours.

A good trick to see how your banner will look in reality is to squint at it though almost completely closed eyes - if you cannot read it properly, the chances are that the colour and/or word size you've chosen will be hard to read in the final printed banner. Keep your banner simple = an effective banner.

Ready to finalise your order?

You can choose the quantity of each banner when you get to the 'checkout' page. And you'll be able to decide not to order a particular design at that stage by setting its quantity to zero.

So when you are finished, just click on the 'FINISHED? Go to checkout & pay' button near the top of the page and on the right.

About the Checkout page:

To alter the quantity you want of each design, move your mouse pointer across that design to show the 'quantity' dropdown box. Changing the quatity will immediately change the details and prices on the page. If you do not want to order a particular design, set its quantity to zero.

You must complete every box on the page (the 'Company' box is optional). When you have entered your 'Postcode' and pressed your keyboard's 'Tab' key, the 'Suburb' list will fill with matching suburbs from which to select.

Payment via Paypal is a quick and secure method, and you can use your Visa or Mastercard to make the payment instantly, or open a free Paypal account and send money from your Australia bank account (takes 2+ days)

When you click the 'Click to Proceed to Payment Page' button, your submitted details will be checked for accuracy and completeness before you are transferred to the Paypal secure server. If you simply see the same page, this means that the details you have submitted are incorrect or incomplete.

Delivery time:

Your banners are normally printed within a few hours of your paying for your order (or, if you order out of normal working hours, within a few hours of our factory starting its next shift). On the following working day your banners are seamed and roped, then checked for accuracy against your original design, and shipped.

Therefore most of the delivery time in is the shipping (expect Australia Post to deliver them in 7-10 days). If you choose 'Express Shipping', then you can expect to receive your banners within 3-5 days by Fedex/UPS (and soon after they are shipped, we'll email you a reference number that you can enter on the Fedex/UPS website to monitor their progress).

If Fedex/UPS does not deliver within 7 working days, or Australia Post in 21 working days, we will assume your shipment is lost and will reprint and send via Fedex/UPS (or make a total refund, at your choice) - as long as failed delivery is not due to lack of a recipient during normal business hours.

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have ordered the banners in sufficient time for your event - if you email us in a panic after we have shipped, we'll sympathise and also panic but be unable to do anything other than also feel stressed. Sorry.

Australia's Customs Clearance:

All banners are shipped as 'promotional material' and with their value stated as either 'no commercial value' or $1.

Normally this means that your country's Customs Service will not charge you import duties, but it is your responsibility to check that you are able to receive your shipment free of duty, and in the case that duties are payable, this is you sole responsibility.

Purely as a guide, no customer in Australia has yet reported having been charged import duty, and we understand that such duties are not normally levied on goods with a total value of under $1000. If you would like us to declare the value as that which you have paid (rather than the normal 'no commercial value' or $1), you must inform us prior to our shipping.

A 'paid' invoice is mailed to you separately, and will arrive some days after you receive your banners.

Any problems with using the website:

Please allow every page to load fully before using it.

And keep your eye on the extreme bottom left of your screen where you should see your status bar - if you see a warning yellow triangle at any time, that means the page hasn't loaded properly, and you'll need to click Refresh to reload the page before it will work properly.

Some things are designed to work a particular way (eg: some of the keys on your keyboard are excluded from the design of your banner), whilst others (eg: the wrong banner has saved) happen because something genuinely went wrong. We're really sorry - the interactive system of the design page really stretches the technology. First step is to close all instances of your browser, then try again. If your banner designs are still not saving correctly, clear the 'cookies' in your browser, close all instances of your browser, then try again.

And if you then still find a problem, please drop me a line at david@Printshop.com.au telling me exactly what you were doing, and what problem you encountered. I will log into your account to experience the same problem - and I therefore need just sufficiently detailed information from you to be able to replicate the problem, and therefore also to fix it.

Any problems with your orders:

Please tell us first, so we can fix them.

Please do not just try to cancel your credit card payment, because if a problem is our fault we'll be refunding your payment. Cancelling a credit card payment after it has been made simply makes Paypal hate us and mistrust us.

If you suddenly realise you have ordered the wrong thing, tell us urgently - there may be many ways to solve the problem, so please give us the opportunity to solve it creatively.
